barging in here like gangbusters
It's not that Levi is making too many demands of him; quite the opposite, Levi is being very subdued about this whole fiasco, and accepting Erwin's care with a minimal amount of fuss or crabbiness. It's that Erwin is finding it difficult to keep up with everything with only one hand, and he's realizing now how much Levi really had to do for him when he was the one in the sickbed. There are certain things he can't manage on his own, and he's grateful that Levi only needs to shave every couple of weeks or so. Even with the electric razor he has now, Erwin isn't certain he'd be able to get Levi as smooth as he prefers.
Still, Erwin has been insistent about Levi spending time resting, and not sleeping in a chair like he wants to. Maybe once he's convinced that Levi won't fall out of the chair during the night and be cold and miserable on the floor, he'll entertain the idea, but until they figure out what to do with his bones, that won't be happening. Erwin's been the one taking a chair recently, getting Levi settled on a couch and then dozing next to him in an armchair. He has no idea how Levi has managed it all these years. Maybe because he can manage with just a couple of hours a night.
Yesterday, Levi had demanded to be taken back to his own house, and the crabbiness had been a refreshing change. Erwin had gotten him situated on the couch, and then been unceremoniously kicked out. He has no idea what Levi has planned for the night, but he knows better than to cross him when he's in this kind of mood.
He's also really, really grateful for the chance to sleep in his own bed, and let Diana take a shift keeping an eye on Levi.
Erwin gets up early the next morning and makes a simple breakfast for three, in case Diana is around, complete with a mug of fresh brewed tea. He puts on some casual clothes and crosses the yard to Levi's house, knocking briskly and then letting himself in. "Levi? Are you hungry?"
