JUST A DREAM FROM YESTERDAY
Living Island. If ever there were a first step to stopping this madness, it’s figuring out what those words mean. But starting is always the hardest part, and with nothing else to go by than two seemingly unrelated, nonsensical words left behind by a force you can’t see much less communicate with, an already arduous task seems even more impossible. This is furthered by the reactions you get when you hit the street and start asking people if they know anything about Living Island. Most of them can only look back at you blankly, as if waiting for a punchline that never comes. Others actually take you seriously enough to consider the question, and to their credit, they do take their time racking their brains to remember where they’ve heard that name before, why it sounds so familiar. But the most you’ll get back from them is a sheepish shrug of the shoulders and a reply that it sounds like something from TV. It gets to the point where their answers blend together, each one more unremarkable than the last. Save for the one you get from the last person you haven’t asked. Living Island.

OOC INFO
Welcome to the second part of February’s event! You can use this entry to top-level for the event, but feel free to utilize the log and network communities as well.
There will be a top-level posted for NPC interaction tied to the second prompt below, wherein you can request to play out your character’s interaction with Harding or Rosemary. If you would like to have your character interact with either one of them, comment to the top-level with the name of the NPC you would like to thread with. You may only thread with one NPC. The mods will respond to NPC tags until February 28th.
Any questions can go in our FAQ thread below. Try to check and see if your question has already been answered on the plotting thread first here.

he recalls how old the picture of harding's was when it was described by both sans and takame... it takes years for a photo to age and yellow to the extent they were describing it as such, decades, even. the idea of being in this place for so long- ]
We should definitely keep an out for her. She might be someone we can help out with even if we can't get help from her. [ because it doesn't matter if mrs. carver can or can't do anything for them. if she's in possible distress or danger then he feels like they should help her out without expecting anything in return.
he jots that note on the wall - help out, no matter what. - besides her name, underlining the last bit for emphasis. ] Do you think we should help her family here? I know she's married but I don't know if it's married for real or our, erm, 'married' right now.

[ That woman would definitely notice it if she was married to a robbie. Yet again... When Monika had brought up certain uncomfortable facts, she had denied them through hoops in logic, so whatever's going on in her head may force her to see things under a different light. ]
I think we'd need to meet them first, to be sure.

[ daylight jots that down on the wall, making sure to emphasise the ambiguity of the family situation of mrs. carver. he adds 'mr. carver' beside her and adds question marks under the pair, to show the extent of their (lack of) knowledge.
when he's done, he looks over at monika and flashes an apologetic smile. ]. I'd hate to put pressure on you about this situation but since you seem to have a better read on her- [ and she doesn't have a current task to do for the hha. ] -do you think you can suss out what her family situation in town is? Only if you want, Monika, because I know this is a lot to ask.

[ He was asking her to play a part in this story, counting on her? How could she not? She loved the feeling of being useful too much to say no. Besides, she was the most qualified one in this place for this, as far as she knew no one else had talked as much to Rosemary, let alone gotten such strange answers. ]
I'd rather do something useful rather than wait till the next disaster befalls us.

[ he knows it's a lot to ask. more so with what they've all been through just now but it's better to get this stuff going soon as they can, he thinks. the town keeps hitting them and they've got to hit back.
but they first got to learn what they can hit. ] Let me know if anything comes up. If you ever need backup or help in this - or in anything else, if you're planning to do something - let me know? [ he gives her a grin, trying to look confident and reliable as possible for someone else. ] I'm here to help out, I promise. We're in this together and we'll get through this togehter.
