"I don't think small town life means they act like their bones will give in."

It's a strangely sarcastic comment coming from someone like Blossom, Noelle realises, so she tries to deflect with what she noticed during her shift at the Blue Moon Diner: Mostly how they act much older than they appear to be. Preferring to hide in corner booths to speak politely to each other, wear cardigans and order coffee and do crossword puzzles.

"The fact there's no real gossip is what I noticed the most." She makes her eyes wide, like even she was surprised by this. "They have nothing but good things to say like the Mayor or the Chief of Police. Nothing but gushing praise and compliments."

Which is weird, you have to think. When you're by your friends and think you're alone, surely you'll let loose and say some bad things, right?
