She would have been in her right to be horrified after how their last conversation had gone. She would have been in her right to be terrified after everything Monika had done. Everything she could still do if she allowed despair to take ahold of her once more.
But she didn't. Monika couldn't remember having ever felt happier. Seeing her alive, seeing her accepting what little comfort she had to offer. Yet... There was something so sad about it. For how happy she felt, there was sorrow in equal measure to be found. Why... Why had Sayori gone through such horror? It was unfair. After everything she'd already gone through?! With all that said, they still needed to escape. They needed to find Sans... He couldn't have gone too far. Then he would be able to take them, to take Sayori, to safety.
