You could see if they've got a safety helmet. Saw one of the--either the innkeeper or the shop owner's kids, back home--all set up like that. Helmet, knee pads, elbow pads... Poor kid could hardly walk. But I bet they would've just bounced right off the ice if they fell, so it'd be pretty safe.
