Ray is lucky enough not to have arrived through the lake this time -- he will, later, but this is not that moment -- so the timing is fortuitous, him catching Huaisang's last network plea right as he's about to light a cigarette.

"Oh, shit!" he says around it, held in the corner of his mouth between his teeth, taking a moment to finish lighting up before he limps off to find Huaisang. It doesn't take long at least, not in the cold, empty husk of the formerly bustling holiday attraction.
